Description
This is an intensive course where you will develop practical skills, build up a portfolio of creative work in a variety of art and design subjects, including drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic communication and fashion and textiles. You have the opportunity to specialise and produce a final project in the subject area of your choice. This course is especially suitable for students who wish to apply for a degree in art and design.

Full-time course (over 1 year), starting in September.

Further Study
On successful completion of this course, you may gain direct entry to a degree course at universities and art colleges throughout the UK. This course may also enable you to apply for direct entry to year 2 at Scottish art colleges. A variety of HND courses at the College are also available.

Entry Requirements

One Higher or equivalent and a standard of literacy and numeracy supported by a general education equivalent to four Standard grades at credit (1-2). Mature learners (age 21 or over) may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include experience of paid and/or unpaid employment. All candidates must attend an interview and submit a professional portfolio of recent artwork that clearly demonstrates an ability to successfully complete the course and progress onto Higher Education.
